Maple Bear Academy is simply the best place for your child to begin their early education, conveniently located 2 miles from Cedars Sinai Medical Center. We exclusively care for a maximum of 14 children on any given day, with a maximum of 4 infants (20 months old and younger). Our experienced director Susanna Meldrum along with two full time childcare providers and one assistant are involved with the children at all times. We encourage all children to develop their unique interests and skills by exposing them to a multitude of sensory experiences and positive social interactions from an early age.

The philosophy of Maple Bear Academy is to utilize diverse curriculum, creative arts, and dynamic play to provide the ultimate in early childhood learning.  Our sophisticated program cultivates a child’s cognitive, emotional, social and physical development in a nurturing home daycare environment filled with love, warmth and security. We enthusiastically strive to meet the needs of modern LA parents looking for exceptional care for their young children.

Our classroom does not separate children based on age. We believe that blending age groups encourages patience, caring, and consideration in the older child while challenging and inspiring the younger child. We recognize the uniqueness of each individual child while offering encouragement and reassurance through every stage of their development.

Teaching objectives are achieved through our daily “Study Corner”, structured activities, and interactive play.  We advocate values such as honesty, integrity, compassion, empathy, thoughtfulness, patience, responsibility, giving, sharing, graciousness, friendship, and respect for people and property, and use these principles to guide our program.

We are very open-minded and believe that honesty and communication with parents leads to positive outcomes and experiences for the child. We make every effort to give you insight and keep you involved in your child’s experience at Maple Bear Academy. This is achieved by providing daily written updates for infants 20 months old and under, regular verbal feedback, and the opportunity to view your child online through our secure password protected parent portal.
